bandwidth question

Is Directtv using available bandwidth to carry 2 sometimes 3 HD channels with the same content??? ie 501 HD, 509, and 70??? Wouldn't it be a better use of channels to decrease the duplicate channels???

No, when it the exact same channel content, its just channel mapping, they are not separate feeds.

Same bandwidth, just mapped to different locations, this way it can be in the old HD section 70-99 as well as the new location.
