Bankers Predicting Sale of DTV

YES YES!!! . i hope they don't have no control over it anymore either they drove DTV into the ground. i think they should get out of the sat business. though now there trying to push ATT t.v. on me . i tell em DTV comes out cheaper and if i want a streaming service i won't pay for extra t.v.s and be in a contract !!!

Don‘t forget this could still be all rumor without it being officially announced.

They are showing this AT&T TV commercial in my area, I read that they plan on advertising for AT&T TV more than DTV.

i noticed in my store they took the DTV box out and put in an ATT TV box also. i think somethings up

My Directv info was gone from my AT&T profile. Called and they said I have to manage my DTV account from Directvs website now.

Hertz just filed for bankruptcy because of Covid-19 and they have a lot of debit just like AT&T has. Could it be different this time then when Apollo talked about this last year?

That means nothing - Hertz is bankrupt because travel and therefore car rental has dropped to near zero in the last couple months, and doesn't look to recover anytime soon. Meantime they still have to pay the lease fees for their fleet of cars, the rent for those huge expensive lots near airports, and so forth.

AT&T isn't dependent on travel, or people being willing to go outside, so it is much less exposed to the pandemic. Other than maybe increasing the chances people will cut the cord (who will mostly be people who were going to do it anyway before long moving up their plans so no long term losses) AT&T wouldn't see any change in their business. Cellular customers aren't dropping their cellular plans, if anything they are using it more. Ditto for Uverse internet. It will probably help the uptake of HBO Max this summer since people won't be outside at festivals, baseball games and so forth, but spending more time indoors looking for things to do.

i'm sure that att would love to sell DTV. but no one's dumb enough to buy it even more so with the price they want for it

From the same article you just posted

This is all based off the same breathless-toned Fox Business speculation by Charlie Gasparino that aired on Wednesday. One person hearing “sources” tell him something might be a good idea for a company isn’t news. When more people start confirming it from multiple sources, then we’ll talk. Until then, stop reposting the same content and pretending it’s more real because you watched the same segment again.

Also these two responses from that same post. I guess not sure which ones to believe:

the plan seems to offload the DIRECTV ASSETS to help AT&T in their mission to enrich institutional invezinvestors

It’s real buddy! It’s going to happen!!

Ah, yes, those poor institutional investors.

Most of Charlie’s billions has to do with stock.

When it’s no longer “Fun” Charlie will eventually retire and get bought out.

I don’t think it’s so much about the money, but rather be in control.

I think nothing would bother Charlie more if he sold Dish to AT&T and watch them take his whole life’s work and run it into the ground.

Either 1 or 2 things will happen with Charlie...

1) he will see the writing on the wall and cash out when the time is right.

2) he will run the company till the day he dies.

His kids definitely do not have the passion he has about the business to take it over.

If my dad was Charlie, I would have took over Dish years ago and been the boss.

But seriously, I’m waiting for Dish to implode next so I can be at peace

Then why the push to get us to transition from Directv systems to AT&T systems still!

Exactly. You just proved the point. It’s a message board from frankly ex directv employees or just random trolls
