Ok, here is the stupidest question of the night. Need to replace the batteries in my remote, but I can't get the cover off. Have tried a butter knife and whacking it [gently] on the edge of a table. Help? (The cover on the other remote slides of quite easily.)

Thanks!

I have the same issue on my Hopper remotes. I use a jewelers screwdriver and insert it in the crack ( just above the thumb hole) and press down on the latch.

If never removed, it is pretty stiff for travel. Once off a couple times, it is just the way it is suppose to be. I usually use something like a mechanical pencil, but really anything small enough to fit in the crack and give you leverage should be fine.

Thanks to Thomas and Claude! The baby screwdriver did the trick! No more walking a whole 8 feet to turn the channel - I thought I might have to give up my gym membership with a workout like that. Whew!
