Best External Hard Drive For HWS?

I am looking for an external hard drive but not sure if there is a certain one to buy or are they all the same in the end?

Also, can someone point me to a link on how to install/format a new drive?

You want no larger than a 2T, self-powered (not USB). Get Western Digital.
Just plug it in and let it format itself.

It is very simple to install this drive on a Hopper. You simply plug the USB cable from the EHD to the Hopper and the hopper will ask to format the drive. You say yes and it does it. Then you are able to move programs from your Hopper to the Drive or reverse...

Suggestion. If long term storage or for constant transfer, I would recommend series of smaller drives. I do not like going over 500GB, so I lose less if one crashes for whatever reason. I may be in the minority though...
