Best HDTV DVR 2004 award goes to the HD Tivo

Given the reports of DirecTV's HD channels PQ, no matter how good the HD Tivo is, it seems pointless.

I'd like to learn more about this. Can you post some links?

It's all a big PP contest -- my sat is better than your sat. D* had some compression issues earlier, but from posts on AVS Forums, HD PQ has been excellent lately (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=334046). I also remember a post where people were talking about Dish HD PQ being fuzzy (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=337723).

Both D* and E* are busting at the seams as far as bandwidth is concerned and both are working on ways to fix this. Personally, I lost faith in E* to create and execute a plan to move forward -- plenty of posts here about the SuperDish fiasco and constant new hardware delays, updates, bugs.

So, I just switched to D* and don't have sat HD yet. I will as soon as the HD-Tivo is released and will be able to compare they're HD PQ with my OTA HD PQ, which is superb! But SD picture quality on BOTH sat providers is blurred at best for me, with my 65" rptv.
