Best World Series of all-time?

1971 and 1979 were two of my favorites for obvious reasons

. And to follow Sabres' rule (no pun intended), I won't mention another of my favorites in 1960. ;)

However, the 1972 series between the Reds and the A's stands out in my mind as one of the best ones I've ever watched. The A's had some characters that year (Reggie, Catfish Hunter, Rollie Fingers, Sal Bando, Joe Rudi, Vida Blue, and Bert Campaneris, infamous for throwing his bat at a Detriot Tiger pitcher in the ALCS) and were huge underdogs to the hated Reds (hated by me because they just knocked my Pirates out of the series again ). The A's beat the Reds in 7 wild games. Really an entertaining series.

Although I attended one game in both the 1970 and 1972 WS at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, my favorite WS had to be 1975 where I watched every game on TV when I was living in Springfield, MO. What a great series and made even greater because the Reds were in it and won it!!!...:bow...@party
