They had my account so screwed up they gave up trying to fix it and after many complaints to the Office of the President they finally just made a new DIRECTV account for me completely separated from AT&T Misfits Inc.Sure does it's such a frigging nightmare lol its beyond belief![]()

they told us everything would be ok once we were off the att billing system um ok thenDealing with this now. Apparently a wide spread issue for people canceling towards the end of the year also. I have a balance that they never sent a bill to me for. I paid my final bill in 10/2024 and DTV even says final bill. They then decided to bill me because their system glitched. It's now in DTV collections, some internal group, so retention can't help just crediting it. So after 7 months, they say I owe them but terms say billing has to be resolved within 60 days, even the equipment return. They also haven't even sent a paper bill.
Edit - Supposedly they sent an email bill to me. I told them that would be a phishing attempt to me since I no longer have an account and they need to send paper bills to everyone. I was able to finally get to a supervisor in retention that was able to reverse the actual contract since it was for a receiver swap out and nothing new. If you end up talking to a person in the DTV Collections group, prepare to bang your head against the wall.

I finally got the loyalty department to handle it. They would have just waved the charges, as it was $40, but since it was in their internal collections group, they couldn't do that. Got a supervisor who looked and said why don't I just invalidate the contract since it was just a client swap. Then $40 credited and account back to $0.how's that going did you ever get it taken care of???
. the system wanted to keep billing us for services that we didn't authorize!!! that phone call took about 4 hours to fix that issue!!! funny the rep said he has never seen anything like that happen before and he was from dtv back in the day...
