NBA legend Bill Walton 71 has passed from cancer.

When I heard this, I was shocked. I had no idea he had cancer. Growing up I always enjoyed him and Steve "Snapper" Jones were working NBA games on NBC. R.I.P.

I'm going to miss his style. He wasn't anything like the East Coast (overtly biased) color commentators and he had a never ending supply of fascinating stories to tell.

At least he waited for the Pac-12 to trail off into the sunset.

I don't know much about professional basketball. I enjoyed playing basketball in my youth but never got into watching it on the tube.

Oddly enough I know Bill Walton in a different way. Bill was a huge Dead Head. That's where we connect.
