Is this Meter obsolete? Are any of you guys still using it. Can it be updated to current satellite list.

The one I am looking at is version 2.5 usb. When is the last time you used yours. Have you upgraded software since you have had it?
Was just wondering if your Satellite list is current.

you dont have to do anything to it, you go on their website and make a file with all the sats in it and then download it and send it to the device. they keep the website up to date so its all good. my trouble is finding a computer with a serial port since i use all macs but i just borrow a pc from the office. you should be good to go with a usb one

You might consider a used Super Buddy meter. They are much more advanced meter with testing features, benchmark reports and less false IDs.

Often can be found on Craigslist or Ebay at similar prices now that the new model was released.

I would like to get a SuperBuddy, but even a used one is in the 400 range. I know it is the best out there. I was also considering the
First Strike Meter. Not sure how good it is. Currently looking at used Birdogs, less than 200, but as we know, you get what you pay
for, especially if it is already used.

The bird dog is fine. Go to www.birdog.tv and build and download your file. I still use mine and it works great.Also google advanced uses for a birdog and you will be suprised what it can do.

Why not use a serial to usb adapter, would that not work for you.
