birthday now required?

I went to edit a field in my profile and when I clicked "save changes" I got an error that an invalid birthday was entered. I didn't touch that field and I've never had my birthday set up here. In the past I could make changes to the other fields, leaving this one blank. What if you don't have a birthday, like you're a clone? Just hypothetically.

I set that up as I try to send everyone a birthday note on their birthday.

You don't need to put a year if you dont want to, or you can make up a date thats up to you.

Just something so I can say thanks and hapy birthday to everyone once a year.

Any limit on how many times you can 'correct' your birthday?

hi, scott,

i just registered and was uncomfortable about having to enter a bday.
if this is just for your convenience, how about making it an optional field.
i put in a dummy date, but would prefer to just leave it blank.
