Blank recordings

I have S425 on an original hopper, last week I had 2 programs recorded that were completely black and no sound. Both recording were from local channels. Both before and after, I have had other normal recordings.

Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix?

Check signal levels on point dish for your locals.

I checked the signal levels, I found that one was 41 and a second at 66.
Is there a way to lock in one sat or does the hopper looks for a new sat for each turner, each time?

The point dish screen is just a diagnostics tool. The sat and Trans changes each time depending which sat and trans the channel is coming from.

I had this issue as well but when I checked again the next day, the recordings played OK.

Do you know what is Alternate On/Off used for in the Point Dish Diagnostics Installation Summary screen? (Yellow - Yellow - Check Switch)

If you live in a non conus location you select this. It checks non conus transponders for signal so that you don't waste time checking transponders for signal that you will not be getting signal from, if you live in a non conus location.
