Here's the graphic of how Dish uses the 30 Mhz - 3Ghz spectrum per receiver type and where LTE fits into the scale. Also he confirmed, Hybrid still requires 3 Ghz and the rumor of stepping down to 2200 is not true

That's the official company line because Hoppers 1 & 2 use the stacked frequencies to 3 Ghz for the three tuners. When the Hybrid system for the Hopper 3 was first introduced I remember a very knowledgeable and highly placed Dish person said that it uses a different frequency range and alluded that it would work with lower freq wires.

All that being said we always use 3 Ghz wire for Hopper installations. :)
