HERE TO HELP YOU!
What Brand do you use?
So far I have only used Memorex with good results, just ordered both of these from Amazon...

Don, you should be able to get them for half that.

I won't buy the branded disks since I need to print labels. I recall my last order I paid $3.35 ea for the 4x white inkjet hub printable quantity 25 on a spindle. I've only burned 5 of them so far and none failed.

Newegg has the same discs for a few bucks less. I've used them and they seem to work fine. I got a free Verbatum with my burner, but I haven't used that one. They're usually about $5 each.

I also recommend SuperMedia Store and prefer Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or FTI FalconMedia depending on the media type I need at that moment.

Yes, Vurb. I bought the ones for $2.99 - 25 pack ink jet hub printable. They work fine. I put a 2 hr 20 minute 1080p-30 x 1920 dance recital on it and it took about 20 Gb as I recall.

The cool thing is the free shipping. Be forewarned though the disks come shrink wrapped and no spindle. There was no branding on them but they work 100% burning at 4x. I have 3 left. :)

For the record: I have no (home) BD burning experience, not even a BD burner.

But I rip the BD/HD movies to hard drives in the minimalistic fashion - video, 1 audio, 1 subs.
And most of the ones I have result in a file under 25GB.

Don- Did they not explain what the correct price was? MIne were just a tad higher in price but that was back in June. With Vurbano's link, I just figured they went down in price since. Back in January when I did the satellite guys Bluray project, I recall paying more like $7 ea for the white ink jet printables.

Diogen- Sorry for my ignorance- Did someone crack the encryption for BluRay movies now? I thought the only way to copy blue ray recordings was to use the analog hole and copy in real time. I have the equipment here to do that but frankly, with my Block Buster Movie Pass, I have no reason to bother making personal copies of movies. A few I wanted to have in my collection, can be bought after a few months for $12.50 at Block Buster. The used ones even less!

Yes, a while ago.
AACS protection (common on defunct HD and BD) was worked around by Jan. 2007.
BD+ was hacked shortly after Fox started using it (Easter 2008).

AnyDVD remains the best tool for this. But there are alternatives, some free.
Decrypting - Doom9's Forum

DVD and BD protection hacks are different: CSS keys on DVDs a bruteforced while AACS and BD+ keys are fetched from memory (bruteforcing 128-bit AES is impossible with today's computers).

ANyDVD HD, their support is incredible. The program comes with a ripping portion and they are working on a canned BD duplication program. I purchased the regular version years ago and upgraded to HD version with lifetime updates in anticipation of building an HD video and sound HTPC. With Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 and the new Auzentech card it looks like the audio formats are possible now.
