Bluefield/Beckley locals - what equipment needed?

Hello,

My parents have dtv, and they asked me to help them find out what equipment that they will need to receive the local channels once they are active. (They don't have a computer)

I don't know the model of receivers that they have, but I know that they are very basic receivers and only have the original KU band dish.

I read somewhere that they might need a KA/KU band dish for the locals.

Is there a website that will instruct you to the minimum requirements for equipment to receive your local channels via directv? (according to zip code or something).

It requires a HD receiver / dish. Directv will upgrade their dish and primary receiver for free, additional HD receivers are being offered for $49. They are active now.

But let's clarify - they WILL get either HD or HD DVR boxes (H2x or HR2x models), but they do NOT have to sub to HD service. All MPEG4 only markets are like this.
