I have a prosat 330 receiver and 215 positioner. The system does not work now and I assume it is my receiver. I have a toshiba receiver that I intended to replace it with. However someone told me that a anolog block down system will not work. I understand that there is free to air and premium channels available. This tells me that it might still work. Please enlighten me on if I can change receivers and receive both free and premium channels with my descrambler. Thanks

The correct answer is yes and no. Yes, there are a ton of free channels to be had out there. Good stuff too.
No free premium channels, however with a big dish, and some inexpensive equipment, you can subscribe to premium stuff for a LOT less than you would pay for D*SH or Dir*ct.
This is a kinda hands on, DIY hobby. Read everything you can, ask questions. I have to warn you, once you get started, it is very hard to stop at just one dish.
