C51 Installation

Hello everyone! When we had our system set up, we weren't ready to have the mini genie set up, so the installer left it for us. Almost a year later we are finally ready to set it up.

Where should the coax cable come from that we plug into the mini genie? Or wires behind our main TV are a bit of a mess and I can't seem to find any sort of installation guide online (probably because a professional usually does it).

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

A little more information would be useful. Normally, there should be a green label splitter, hopefully a four port, that you could run a coax to the C51. Do you have any other receivers in the system? Just the main TV or others? It may be easier to follow the cable from the dish to the main receiver to determine if you have a splitter installed, or not.

Yes, we only have the main receiver. The outside cable comes into a box before going into the receiver, is that correct?

We live in an apartment and there have been various satellite installs over the years so there is kind of coax everywhere, lol.

Where the outside cable goes into the "box", does it say 'Power to SWM' ? If so, that is your power inserter that provides power to your dish. Do you have your own satellite dish outside, or on the roof? If you do, then it sounds like you will need a splitter, so you can run another coax to the room where the C51 will be installed.

Yes, we have a dish outside. Where would the splitter go? Before, out after the power inserter?

Be sure to get a Directv green label splitter. I would place it after the power inserter.
