The webpage of "Light Readings Cable Industry News" of October 3, 2007 Cable Digital News - Cable Digital - Comcast Ready to Reclaim Bandwidth - Telecom News Analysis contains some discussion of the capability of switched digital video and some other techniques to increase the perception of capacity. As a consumer, I'm wondering if the cable provider has the know-how and desire to go full-scale toe-to-toe with the DBS competitor(s). I doubt the cable company have the desire to satisfy the thirst of hdtv enthusiasts. I welcome the comments of knowledgable industry professionals about the pieces of data in the article. Thank you.
