California sent bill to state giving OK for Tel. Companies...

I saw on the news this morning june 1 2006,that california sent a bill to the state senate,giving the o.k. for telephone companies like verizon and AT&T,to carry television service in california. this will make it easier for the phone companies to roll out t.v. services like verizon fios statewide.and give the cable companies more competition. The cable companies are already complaining that the phone companies will have an unfair advantage. i am happy to hear this as verizon has already started laying fiber for fios in our town!!!

Can someone confirm?
