Good evening all,

I am using USALS to control my motor. My TS Satellite is AMC6 and has no active transponders. Can I use SBS6 as my true south satellite?

I believe I should aim the dish/motor to SBS6 and peak the dish.
Go into USALS setup for SBS6 and enter my LAT(72.6W)/LON(41.3N) and select Reference Position.
Then Select Store.

Can someone verify that this is correct?

Thanks

BTW, I'm using a Pansat 3500s if it matters.

I have Anik F2 as my closest TS sat - same problem.

I USALS'd over to G10R - peaked the dish and was tracking the arc perfect :). When peaking the dish, the azmuth is adjusted by turning the whole motor and dish assy and the elevation is done via the dish elevation. The motor elevation you set and forget as-per the manual says for your latitude.

Doing what you describe shouldn't be a problem. Just be sure that your lat/long settings are dead on.
