Hi,

I had a setup a couple of years ago with a dish 500 dish and my viewsat ultra vs2000, then it went out.

My question is this...im considering buying a 30in dish with ku IF i can use the reciever i already have. Im located in memphis tn. (38068) what would be the best dish i could point at for only FTA american channels?

That's what I use.. vs2000 ultra with a 30 in dish. This setup works great for me. But I am in Florida, close to the equator :) you may need a larger dish depending on where you are and what sats you plan to aim at.

If you are going to buy a dish, I'd recommend a 36" instead.
If you find some sort of 30" available to experiment with for free, by all means give it a try.
Also get a Standard LNBF, and set your LO (local oscillator frequency) to 10750, in the receiver.
Oh, but first, you might want to find a copy of the last available factory firmware for the 2000.
(check our archives, we may have it here)
