Can we chain STS splitters with SWM-8 ?

My building will have a new MDU system with MFH2. My unit has cable with a lot of splitters. If a have a STS-8 in a closet to distribute the signal to 4 DVRs, assuming I can't have a single line to all of them, can I replace the splitters with the STS-2 ? In other words, can I split a already splitted cable using STS splitters ?

You should be able to, as long as there are no other units coming off the same SWM8, since you have 8 tuners. Your current splitters *may* work without replacement.
