Can you control the VIP922 with a keyboard?

Is it possible to control the VIP922 with a keyboard?

Can you navigate the guide and enter search criteria?

Can you pause/play/ff/rew playback with it?

I am not sure if it does not, but it did work in the past when I tried it before the 922 was oficially released.

Give it a shot if you have a USB keyboard hanging around, you won't break anything.

I'm currently using the VIP622 but am thinking about upgrading but I'd like to know this first.

Also, can it be controlled via RS-232 or USB or anything like that? (for home automation)

It can be control via DISH Remote Access....

The new iPad application ROCKS You select a show, then click on Watch on TV and then the show starts playing... then you have full control of things directly from your iPad.

I've just found out about that and I'm really excited to try it. I'm also fooling around with different iPad home automation programs... (I even purchased an IP to IR gateway so I can control other IR devices from my network or iPad)

Anyways, I'm still interested in the USB keyboard and/or RS-232 control just so I know...

I have used a windows media center remote to control my 922 from my windows 7 computer.
An IR blaster is needed however.
