:DHi, I just got installed DN in my home. I have 3 antennas. 2 pointing to the 110 and 119 satellites and one to the 61.5. I have the basic HD package. The installation was done by a DN thecnitian but when I try to watch one of the channels in the 61.5 satellite an error appears saying that the signal was lost. I tried to change the transponder in the "Point Dish" Menu picking one transponder in the 61.5 with good signal but once I select the transponder and press "DONE", the transponder doesn't change. Can someone help me do the change or tell me what can be wrong?? I'm new at this, used to be a cable customer.

Satellite signals don't work like cordless telephones. ;) Specific channels are mapped to specific transponders. You can check transponder signal strength individually in the Point Dish menu. But the TV channel number determines which satellite and which transponder the receiver tunes in.

Can you see channel 9902? Which channel were you attempting to watch when you saw the "signal lost" message?

Yes, It says Congratulations!!! You are loking at the 61.5 Orbital Location.

Can't see 302(sat 61.5, Trans. 24), 303(same as 302), 305(same), 308(same), 309(same), 313(sat 61.5, Trans. 32), 340(61.5, trans. 21), 351(61.5, 21), 352(61.5, 21)354(61.5, 24), 356(61.5, 24), 9478(changes from 110 to 61.5, trans. 24), 9489(61.5, trans 24), 9453(61.5, trans 24), 9454(61.5, trans. 24), 9486(trans 24), 9496(trans 21), 9497(trans 24), 9498(trans 21), 9505(trans 21). These channels are blocked(in red, cannot access them): 374,385,394,9419,9425,26,27,29,31,32,33,34,36,37,38,39,42,43,44,46,49,60,61,62,63,68,69,87,88,89,90,91,92,94, 9508,40. Help please!!!

The channels that are in red in the guide are not included in the basic HD package. You need to hit the guide button on the remote until its on "All Sub", this are the channels that you are subscribed to.
Evidently your 61.5 dish needs to be "peaked", your signal strength is too low. If you want to try to do it yourself (you don't have anything to lose):
Go to menu-6-1-1.
Select 61.5 and one of the transponders you're having problems with like 24.
If you can hear your TVs' audio with it cranked up grab the dish and pull it left, then right, up, then down. If you hear the tone go up in any direction you'll know which direction the dish needs to be moved. If hearing the sound outside isn't an option have someone inside guide you-- a cell phone helps here.
Once you determine what direction you need to go find the bolts/nuts that allow movement either up/down or left/right. Loosen 'em just enough to allow movement and SLOWLY move the dish until you get the highest tone or signal, the tighten 'em down. A good signal on one transponder that you've been having trouble with should take care of the others.
The 61.5 Dish will be the one with only one LNB (lense type doohickie).
Hope this helps. Good luck!

This is a problem I've just recently been having too, and I don't believe my dish needs to be tweaked. This must be software related or something.

It doesn't take much for the dish to move or to have something grow in front of the dish. I have seen this and it usually takes a couple of minutes to get it righted. Either that or you have lnb drift. I don't think it has anything to do with the software.

Go to the point dish menu setup and point your dish on 61.5 and switch the transponders and see if your receiver doesn't go whacko on you. I don't have any new vegetation.

Well, I did a system info and discovered I have LNB Drift.

It says LNB Drift Detected...

Do I need to replace my 129 LNB?

The 129 health life is 0 0 52 47

Thanks for any help.
