I have a feeling my receiver is somehow defective?

I'm using the loop through function to feed my coolsat 5000 and even though the other box is off (as in standby), i can only access H polarity with my coolsat (because the last channel on the captiveworks was on the H polarity)

Now, if I turn off the receiver from the back using the switch, I get no signal on the coolsat.

Any ideas?

what happens when you have the CW on a V channel and try to use the 5000?

I have a feeling the CW even though in standby keeps the channel polarity locked

on a side note, why dont you have the 5000 as the main box?

verticals come in when the cw when it was last switched to a V channel then turned off.

so you're right iceberg! i guess theres nothing i can do except switch

also; i wanted the coolsat in my room more than the captiveworks =P

yeah sadly I've seen receivers like that. The off isnt really an off....its more of a sleep mode. I know my CW600 when off still has signal sending through it (the Hard drive/DVD recorder still thought a signal was being sent)
