Carson Daly joins 'Today' show will Exit Last Call (Not Yet)

Today has announced that on Sept. 16, Daly will join the show permanently as “the host of our brand new Orange Room,” a sort of digital/social media lounge that “connects the show and the audience like never before.”
Though he will also continue to produce Last Call, his new wakeup time means that the show must find a new host; “plans for a transition will be announced at a later date,” according to NBC.

It quietly started airing originals the last week of October, introducing a new format that still features Daly. Because of his increased workload, he is now only doing “wraparounds,” framing each episode with an opening and a conclusion, while the artist interviews are being done by producers.
