Hard to believe it but SatelliteGuys is now 22 years old! We actually turned 22 yesterday but for some reason its always listed as on the 8th on my calendar.
What an amazing 22 years it has been!
One of my hope for this year is that we can find a single site sponsor for SatelliteGuys as the last year the site has been paid for thanks for our supporting Pub Members and then mainly by myself. About a month ago I turned off all the ads except for the Google Adsense ads, due to the fact that we were being served ads that made it look like you had a virus. Unfortunately Google Ads seem to be the only safe ads out there, and unfortunately Google is the lowest paying ad network as well. Last month we made $19.35 is Google ads. If we could find one sponsor for about $5000 per year we would be well off and that would include all our licenses, add ons, servers, domain names etc.
With that said I am still VERY impressed with this new server we moved to I am proud that SatelliteGuys is one of the fastest sites I visit every day.
As you may remember I wanted to change the name of the site, this was put on hold mainly over the fact that if I change the name many of our add ons need to be re registered for the new name, and many of our add ins are unavailable anymore so if we change they may stop working altogether. I did find another domain name I liked which was easier then the one I decided on before and its only 6 letters long (besides the .com .net .us etc...)
With this server and the power of it the world is at our fingers so if you have any ideas how to increase traffic are welcome.
Thank you to all for helping us get here and for being here all these years. It is humbling to see we still have many users here who joined us on day one!
