I just had the FIOS tech out here to replace a Motorola PVR I (and the phone support tech) thought was bad. HOWEVER, he informed me of something very unusual. Cell phones located too close to the receiver can jam the signal. I have Cingular cell phone service, and they are known to cause interference around speakers, a problem called, "The Galloping Buzz". Apparently, this problem also affects certain channels (frequencies) on the Verizon receiver. I tested it, and wow, a ringing cellphone jacks with the picture, significantly! The tech didn't replace the box, but installed "triple shielded" cables, and that seemed to help somewhat. Keep those phones away from the receiver!!

Yeah, esp. quad-band GSM phones. My V635 makes speakers hum and lots of clicking, so I can tell when a call or text message is incoming before my phone goes off, haha.
