For those of you that have local channels, best guess, almost everyone, do any of your locals have the wrong channel number in the dish guide? I ask because my Fox local from dish is listed in the guide as channel 33. Well it really is channel 32. They state from the station they are Fox 32 and the OTA module number in the guide also shows channel 32. But Dish wants to list it as 33. I wonder why dish has not corrected this error. Any ideas why no correction?

Is it Fox 32/33? Like I know for here we have Fox 8/14 and OTA we pick up 14 but on Dish we get 8.

Locals transmit on one assigned channel but the signal contains information for the virtual channel number you see on the TV. Local stations don't always configure this information correctly so you may see the assigned transmitted channel number instead of the channel number the station has selected for you tune to on your TV or is shown in the guide.

I think I understand what you are stating. Way back when my local station first started transmitting in HD, I picked it up then with an HD tuner on channel 40. Their VHF channel was listed as channel 9. Now that UHF is the only thing transmitted, they are still channel 9 and in HD. If that is the case, I would not be surprised if I dug up that old tuner and looked for that Fox channel and found it to be on 33. Dish is displaying the actual digital channel and the station is showing what they are calling it, channel 32. Guess that would make it all add up.

I always wondered this myself, as the Erie,Pa. market has WSEE channel 35 CBS (16 Transmit ) on channel 5 and WBEP channel 35.2 CW is on Dish channel 3 (WBEP are fake call letters for the benefit of cable and satellite)
