I've heard of people getting compensated for deals done just before a new deal, but it is a rare bird. Odds are decidedly against you. Just as they would be with almost any company. If you go back and give the deal to people who took the old one just 3 days ago, then why not 4 days? And if 4, why not 7? And if 7, why not 14? And so on.
Two weeks is a big miss on this kind of deal, especially given that you received it two weeks ago, so the order must have been what, 4 weeks, 5 weeks ago? The time at which you placed the order is actually the date they would go off of.
