Carey to Leave News Corp. Board After DIRECTV Deal

TOP STORY - News Corp. reported in a Securities and Exchange
Commission filing released this morning that Chase Carey, president
and CEO of DIRECTV and a member of News Corp.'s board, will resign his
board seat after closing of the company's deal with Liberty Media.
That asset swap, in which Liberty would exchange its News Corp.
interest for the media giant's controlling stake in DIRECTV, is
awaiting regulatory approval.

I guess when You have run a company into the ground as much as Chase has Its time to leave when new ownership takes over (E* beat D* in Net sub adds the last 4 out of the 5 last quarters)
