I'm using a Chaparral MicroPak 3G lnb on the 8'er, and just to tinker somemore, i wanted to try to pickup NSS-806@40.5W, which is a circular sat. I inserted the di-electric plate into the feedhorn, and not only did that not work, but i lost half of the channels on the linear sats. What did i do wrong this time??

Your signal will drop on non-circular signals with the plate in :(
Yeah they dropped to zero (and it had to be on the stations i want to watch!), and i still didn't pick up 40.5w. I knew i couldn't have the best of both worlds.
Thanks for the info

If I am not mistaken you can use the feed for Linear only or if you want circular C-band you will insert the plate and get circular only.

If you want c/ku linear and c circular get the corotor II plus wideband mine works great, I replaced a regular corotor II plus with it and have not really noticed any signal loss on my receivers.
