I found this link where there is a class action lawsuit against Sony for the KDS-R50XBR1 & KDS-R60XBR1.

This is for the green blob, green tint, yellow stain & lines, convergence & greyscale problems.
It won't be resolved until Feb 2008. But if it goes through it calls for Sony to repair (in-house) these sets or replace with refurb ones. Also, anyone who has paid to have the optical block replaced will be refunded. And for those that up graded to a different model will get the difference they paid back.
