Coax polarity

I'm wanting to make a battery supply for my signal meter and am wonder if anyone knows what the polarity is in coax for sure. I am presuming the middle wire is the positive and the outer sheath wire is negative.

Correct, the center is positive and the outer shield is ground (negative in this case).
