COMCST answer to DIRECTV HD

Yes, this is very realistic. How many HD channels they will be able to add I don't know, but switched-digital-video systems can deliver channels more efficiently by sending video streams to a subscriber only when a channel is requested. They are supposed to be testing it in two test markets already.

For myself, I am waiting for FIOS! :)

I'm not sure how much it will really save. It depends on where the bandwidth bottle neck is located. If its the last few feet to the house, it will definitely help. If its in the total distribution, it will depend on how many different shows people are requesting. Their is still a bandwidth limit. If people request too many different shows, then it still requires lots of bandwidth. Just depends on how its implemented.
