connecting a Venture actuator

Can someone help me with hooking up a Venture actuator, I have a 922 GI.
Their directions are not clear.The paper shows sensor options, reed switch or hall effect or 10k pot, what ever that is. which do I use?

I would bet that it's a reed switch. Second choice, Hall. Doubt very much that it's a pot.
