Contract Ending Question

If there's a thread on this, I'm sorry, but I'm just curious. My Dish contract is set to expire in August, and I'm curious what happens when that deadline passes. Do I have to agree to new terms of service, is a new contract automatically started, am I able to pay by the month with no contract, or something else entirely? Thanks for the help;

NO. You are month to month---unless you accept some other offer creating a new commitment.

I've never had any commitment yet, and I've been a subscriber for about 3 years. I'll have one in a month or so though when I finally upgrade to Dish HD.
