Control Cable Box volume using remote

Hey, I have a Explorer 8300HDC and I have speakers plugged in instead of using the TV Speakers. Is there a way to make the remote control the volume on the cable box instead of the volume on the TV?

Yes, Hold down the cable power button and select button together, wait until the cable button lights up. Then press the volume up button then cable button again. This should let you use the volume off the cable box and not the tv.

If that doesn't work try this:

Hold down Cable + Select until the top row of lights flash twice.
Enter: 993
Press: CBL

The top lights should flash again and it should control the volume via the box.

If that doesn't work, the TWC website has the codes listed for all of their remotes on their website. (I can't post links yet, otherwise I'd post the link to the remotes page.)
