I want to mess with channels using Channel Master. CM documentation said it doesn't "Direct Read/Write" to Coolsat. Where is the manufacturers site so I can get a REAL Coolsat Loader, so I can put the NDF from and back to the Coolsat? Or atleast a loader from a TRUE FTA site.

Also, is there a site to get additional games/apps for the Coolsat 5000? I tried Ms. Pacman, and it wasn't that great........... but the idea of uploading a new game..... I think I am acting like I kid with something new......

I want to also verify that the data cable is a straight through serial.

Thanks....

here's the loader. It will work to upload your channels from the box to a file that you can import in CM :)

Thanks. I knew you would know, but didn't really want to bug you.

Well, I guess that is one drawback of the Coolsat. At first glance, when we were aiming a dish we tried to use the Coolsat, but since we were new at it, we went back to the Pansat 2700. I didn't see where to set the active transponder we wanted to use when scanning for a satellite. The blindscan function I used didn't show us, if it was searching for transponders. I am sure it really does everything the 2700 does, I just have to learn how to use it.

You need a crossover cable ( null)

FYI- The Coolsat 5000 uses a straight serial cable NOT a null cable. (His unit probably came with it, so it's probably a moot point.)

Also, I believe the current version of the loader is 2.4. But, I imagine 2.2 would still work.

Your Probably right but I had a straight cable and had to cut it, flpi the TD & RD leads to get it to work, my coolsat 5000 never came with a cable.

Straight. Ok. I have both, and read somewhere it was straight. But wanted to make sure. I wasn't for sure if using the wrong cable on an STB could actually mess the box up.

to manually enter a TP on the Coolsat, go to "manual scan" and enter the info :)

Ok. I knew that the Coolsat 5000, should be able to do everything the 2700 does. I have heard to many people including you say how good it is for blindscanning.

It is really good for blind scanning...very fast

I still use my old Pansat 1500 for aiming dishes because the meter is "truer" than the Coolsat

Coolsat meter is 63-85 (63 minimum 85 max)
Pansat is 30-99 :)
