Coolsat source code
remember reading that they released it when they went out.
did they ?
is anyone trying to work with it ?
like adding blind scan to the hd boxes etc.

The only one I'd heard of was the one for the Coolsat 5000/6000
This guy has done some good development with it, but don't expect him to share his source.
I don't think I would.

I doubt the release was done for the benefit of the users.
Probably, some disgruntled hack programmer who didn't get paid...? -
But, just a guess... who knows?

Isn't that just for the 5,6 & 7K models. 8000HD and 8100HD are the same machine. K-Box Hero(1st version) and the coolsat 6100 and 7100 are the same machine.

I didn't think the 7k was in the same firmware category as a 5k or 6k. The guy's website states their customizations are for 5k and 6k series only.

That makes sense, the 7K uses the same loader as the 6!00

7000/7100 are same machine except for buffer space
8000/8100 are totally different than the others

You also need to purchase an ARM compiler license which is expensive, and it stopped me from playing around with it

4k was the sti5518
5k and 6k are the conexant processor
4k(5k6k) source was released years ago.
5k and 6k are the same except for the amount of ram.

One of the rockchip development sites years ago had links to the ARM compiler used for the 5k6k source,but the links are long dead.It was a 100meg download.
