New update news on a new codecs VVC/H

This new codecs might replace HEVC H. 265 with a newer versions called VVC/H. 266.

A 50% improvement on video compression for satellite, OTA and ham radio TV experiments!!

Interesting reading and amazing how far we have come on video compression.

I seem to recall that ATSC 3 was designed to be able to incorporate new CODECs.

Or will VVC require yet another round of hardware upgrades? Probably not worth it for 50%.

From what I understand this ATSC 3.0 is software and hardware upgradeable, but then again I could be wrong on this?
