Moved everything from an old entertainment center to a new one today and when I finished putting the components in and turned on the tv I get a "Warning" message from my 722 that says:

"The content on your hard drive has become corrupted and will cause your receiver to function improperly. In order for your receiver to function properly all content on the hard drive will need to be deleted a this time. We apologize for this inconvenience."

The only option is a button that says "Delete Now"

I tried to cancel or guide and neither allow me to escape from the screen. I also unplugged for a couple of minutes and allow it to reset and still the warning screen. Is this a lost cause? If I allow it to delete everything should my receiver then be okay or do I need dish to send me a new receiver?

Also, did I do something to cause this or was it just a coincidence?

Thanks in advance for any information and advice.

I am so sorry that this has happened. At this point the only option is to "Delete Now". the problem may resolve itself when it deletes the corrupted data but I have also had to replace the receiver when DVR functions did not return after it completed the delete. If you have any problems please let me know and I will help in any way I can.

Wow. I am very impressed. In less than 10 minutes I got a reply from Dish. Mega kudos to Mary Catherine Brady.

Before giving up and deleting, I unplugged the receiver for an hour or so and plugged back in with a reset. Very fortunate in that the receiver started without the error. I am in the process of transferring everything off my receiver to an external hard drive.

However, since I got this error, does this mean that my receiver's days are numbered and I need to request a replacement before it totally crashes or do you think it should be fine for the near future?

And thanks again to Mary Catherine for the prompt response to my original posting.

You are very welcome!! There is no way of knowing if you will have a near future DVR issue. It should not have been able to restart without deleting so I would just monitor it and let us know if you have any problems. Have a great night!!
