cs8000 problems

we tried downloading the cs8000 on 2 dif computer, niether would even find the cs8k over the rs232 using the provided uploader program. I saw a thread about someone else having a bad cable, any suggestions?

what file are you trying to load? The factory file has been around for a while and is usually already in the reciever

tried to get anything from the coolsat site really, the uploader from the disk does not find the cs8k on either computer. I think (hope) its just a bad cable.

The 8000HD uses a Null Data Cable

so probably has the wrong cable , i heard even some of the units shipping with the wrong cable.

yeah, the cable is marked null modem, used ohmeter and cable is not pin # to pin #, that may be normal, but my pc didn't like it either. I think we'll get hold of coolsat, maybe they can talk us thru. Thanks for the reply.
