Washington, D.C. (May 19, 2010) -- The Africa Channel and C-SPAN will launch high-def channels this summer, Multichannel News writes.

The African Channel will launch an HD simulcast on August 1, the publication reports, while C-SPAN will add high-def versions of all three of its channels this summer.

C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2 will be available in HD on June 1; C-SPAN 3 will go high-def in July. There was no word on which TV providers, if any, will carry the new HD channels at launch.
