After several days of trying to decide between the $0 rental plan or the $399 plus free programming through May Sears deal, I finally decided to just get the rental plan.

The csr, when I asked about the available Voom options, told me that they no longer have free programming with the Sears deal, so it became very simple to just sign on with the rental plan.

I figure that I could probably purchase, if necessary, a new receiver several years down the road as the technology improves.

Installation scheduled for this Friday morning at which time I will be cancelling my Dish programming and saving $5 to boot over the Dish invoice. (Or will have to decide if it is worth $15/month to me to just get the hd package from Dish to have HdNet, which I watch often, and HdNet Movies, which I rarely watch.)

I already have cancelled Directv.

But I have to increase my Comcast bill by at least $10/month ($15 if I want their hd network package) just to keep HGTV coming into our home for my wife. (I already have network hd with BEV.) So, come on Voom, let's get HGTV included.

I miss the landscape show on HGTV. I even forgot the name of the show that I use to watch all the time :) The one where 3 designers come over and you pick the one you like the most.... That was a good show.
