I called Customer Service and advised them I was switching to Fios. They transfered me to the disconnect department and offered me all kinds of discounts to stay. They also wanted my confirmation numbers from Verizon, which I did not feel comfortable giving them. I told them I would think about their offer but still set up a disconnection date. Does Cablevision have access to Verizon and their customer records? Why would they need a confirmation number for Verizon plans/orders to offer a discount on Cablevision packages?

Sounds fishy to me. Only thing I can see it that they want it so not all customers call to get deals, which Cablevision wouldn't want. So if you have a confirmation number, they know you are legitimately going to leave them, not just threaten to get a better deal from them.

NBC VOD Deal...... See fall shows on D*, E*, cable early.....
