With a maximum capacity of 150 National HD by 2008 and 1500 Local HD channels.
Please define "by 2008". I'm hoping that you meant "in 2008" or "by 2009".

Also, know that 150 is not a maximum. 150 is a minimum when you're talking about capacity.

:river Yea...right...it's time to load the kids in the van, run around with the wife like chickens with our heads cut off...finally agree where dinner will be( probably Outback tonight), no brewskies:mad: , no music. ..thank god I can Tivo the Phils!:D

I'm sure IN or by the end ! With a capacity of 150 National. With the D10 satellite and D11. If they build more satellites ,then I guess we'll get more.

Well why is D* new commerical " In responds to cable (it's Comcast they are talking about) lying about their capacity, and D* would soon have up to 150 HD channels".
Actually, the latest American Pie commercial claims that DirecTV's PQ outscores Comcast's by 4:1. The very fine print says that the comparison is analog cable channels versus DirecTV SD channels as surveyed among professional home theater installers.

Apparently they are losing hope of winning on the HD front, so they're asking a very special group about their SD preferences. In the back of my pea brain, I wonder if they asked them about cable's digital SD versus DirecTV SD.

I firmly believe that if they plowed all the money they spent on inane advertising into improving their customer service and product reliability, they wouldn't need to advertise at all.

I doubt Directvs to worried about losing!

I didn't really get much from it, they are not off the cuff like the Dish Network ones are. Just short and too the point.

I am going to try viewing them and reporting on them each month. :)

Thank you. If it turns out to be a bunch of nothing Im sure us D* fanboys will say thanks for the effort Scott but its not worth it.

Who knows might be some good nuggets of info there.

I would suggest with the successful launches and setups of D10&D11.The need for more bandwith will be with D12.Already built and designated as a backup against failure of the other 2 D's.;)
