I did some trading for this dish (32" x 22") and was wondering if anyone here had ever used one for FTA, and if there was any use for the OEM LNBF?

I did some Googling on the LNBF and found some mention of part it possibly being able to catch linear Ku signals, but not sure if that is true, or if there is some sort of internal switch that would nix it for anything besides D* equipment?

Those LNB's have KA spots at 99/103 and a DBS at 101 so unless you use it for DBS the other LNB's are useless

I know some folks have retrofitted a KU LNB on it

Thanks Ice, that's what I needed to know.

I'll make/buy an LNBF holder and give it a shot. :up

32" wide? Sounds like a " :up " to me! :)

Note the heavy mount construction, and the fine tuning hardware.
I see elevation.... they usually have azimuth, too.
Needed to dial in the Ka signals.
Kinda overkill for Ku.

I'd slap some conduit hanger brackets and a regular LNB on there, and use it for any normal bird.
Maybe not for the weakest ... but it'd be a waste on Whitesprings.
