I saw this on an uplink activity report dated 5/13/2012.

Does anyone know if its still accurate? can I get these in HD on conus?

5190 - WQAD [MPEG4 HD] moved from EchoStar8 77W TP 06 ConUS beam to EchoStar8 77W TP 08 ConUS beam (Mkt:Davenport, IA-Moline, IL-ABC) (A) (H)
5191 - WHBF [MPEG4 HD] moved from EchoStar8 77W TP 06 ConUS beam to EchoStar8 77W TP 08 ConUS beam (Mkt:Davenport, IA-Rock Island, IL-CBS) (A) (H)

According to The List, they are still there and available if you have an EA dish.

this one was on eastern arc before, but I had new service installed yesterday and the guy pointed at 110, 119, 129 with a new LNB.

I kept the LNB from eastern arc setup and posted its pic.

Now I have to figure how to get eastern arc back in and I probably need a new bracket too dont you think?

the installer is telling me the new dish HD will not work with eastern arc even with the eastern arc LNB.

He is telling me he has to switch the dish to a KU dish. He is full of it, right?

Well, that statement is incorrect. However, if you have a 1000.2 dish you can only get an LNB for it that will receive 61.5/72.7 on the eastern arc. In order to get the 77 as well, you need the LNB you pictured above paired with a 1000.4 dish.

That LNB is for a 1000.4 dish not a 1000.2 as pointed out a 1000.2 EA can't see the 77 sat.

to be clear, below I have a 1000.2 dish that can't see 77 and a 1000.4 LNB that can see 77?

Correct, the 1000.2 is point at the western arc 110 119 and 129 with eyes roughly equidistance apart. The 1000.4 eastern arc lnb is designed for orbitals 61.5 72.7 and 77. The combined twin eye on the left of the lnb receives 72.7 and 77 (note the small distance between the two). Although you could point the 1000.2 west at the 77 the eyes are not properly spaced to pick up the other two.

Also You need the full 1000.4 assembly, you can't just put the 1k4 east lnb on a 1000.2 and change the skew and elevation. The bracket arm and reflector is a different size so you might as well start from scratch.

ok, I made the installer who put a western arc dish up 2 days ago come back and give me my old eastern arc dish.

now all I need is a 1000.4 bracket.

If you were me would you put a dish 300 up and add 77 to setup or can that even be done with hopper and western arc dish?

I was thinking there would be an input in the new LNB he put up.

I suppose I should of asked this earlier but what type of receivers did you have added or installed? If you have a full hd setup you should be able to call dish, explain the issue, and a free trouble call will be generated so long as this is a install by DNS or licensed retailer/subcontractor.

There is an in on the 1k2 west, if it's easier I would just set up a D500 or 300 with a DO single pointed at the 77. It would be substantially easier to tune a single without a meter as well.

If you do that just make sure it locks the 77 before you run the check switch or the hopper will never complete the check switch. I had to assist another tech with a two dish setup on a line of site issue, he managed to get his meter to verify 72.7 but he was hitting Star One C2 @ 70. The hopper was stuck in a permanent check switch.
