My project today was to flash both of our Linksys E1000 routers here at work so that it would accomplish two things: allow the creation of a guest network and allow the 2nd device to act as a wireless repeater so that we no longer have two different wireless networks.

I got everything configured and it all works, except for one quirk: the guest network is on it's own IP schema totally different from our internal network. We just want to allow internet access on the guest network. I entered in firewall commands to block all guest network access to our internal network.

All is well except the guest network can ping our internal network by IP only. I need to block that.

Any of you guys experts with DD-WRT?

I thought all you had to do was give 2 WiFi boxes the same SSID/password (and set them to different channels) to do a wide area wifi network.

My netgear wifi box came with an available guest network that you could make unable to ping/see the other network.
