I have a 12' solid dish with a Bullseye II feedhorn, NORSAT rsat 5150F, (C Band)PLL LNB.

Also have a NORSAT 1109HAF (Ku Band) PLL LNB sitting in the box.

All of this is estate stuff.

Assuming I get the dish bolted down and pointed at Galaxy 13, Can the (relatively) cheap Motorola DSR6050 from eBAY be used as an IRD receiver for NASA TV?

That receiver is older tech. No digital outputs. NASA now has a UHD broadcast that receiver can't do. But it should still pick up the HD signal. But still just analog outputs :( And you don't need decoding capabilities so half that receiver is a waste.

Went through the thread - interesting stuff. A bit out of my price range.

At the moment considering the LINKBOX 9000i as an alternative to the used Motorola kit

End game is to have three receivers, fed into an existing Zee-Vee modulator as HDMI or component video.

To start, no more than $350 per receiver. Obviously less is better, would prefer known commercial kit vs. no-name gear from Korea or China.

As long as you don't need time sync or 4K (UHD) that 9000i would be fine.
